Um, Guys? Is It Okay to Blame Biden Yet?

Like you, I’m so glad the election nonsense is over, but loose ends do abound.

Reckless as it is, once again in my stellar career of saying shit normal people disagree with, I’m driven to defend Kamala Harris, of all people. I know, I know, I may as well be advising people to transport their cases of Independence Day fireworks with a Tesla. To progressives/socialists, she’s the love child of Adolph and Pol Pot; to furious butthurt liberals she’s the quarterback who threw the interception at the one-yard line with 00:00 left on the clock. I know she’s done some crappy stuff (I personally got into fights with Khive trolls on Twitter in 2016), don’t get me wrong, but wanna know what? She wasn’t the one who blew this one.

For one thing, Biden should have left a lot sooner than he did. Neera Tanden and all the other DNC monsters let him walk around bumping into walls like a drunken diaper-wearing Roomba when they should have dragged him to a rest home to spend his afternoons eating pudding and watching Match Game ’78. That was a real dick move, fam.

Most importantly, with regard to the Gaza genocide that forced me and a few hundred thousand other humanitarians to vote for Stein, Harris had no possible way even to hint that she might cut arms shipments to Bibi if she won. Biden’s the one who acted as Bibi’s personal arms dealer and she was VP. The irony of it all is that for all we know, she would have told Bibi to go fuck himself on day one if she’d won. We’ll never know for sure (I won’t trust whatever she says in her NYT-approved book whenever it comes out). But historically it would have tracked: Obama wasn’t all that nice to Bibi, and he was Harris’ sensei through this while ordeal. I’ll bet you a liter of coffee vape juice those two had a lot of laughs over the crap they were going to put Bibi through. On the flip side, Biden was and still is simply doing what he’s told by our Gadsden-flag-waving oligarchs, and he definitely told Harris “tough shit” if she ever questioned it. That venal, cardboard loser was the worst Democratic president of the modern era, I mean can we talk?

All I’m saying is that I think people have been too hard on Harris all along, not just during the ridiculously short 100 days she had to put together a decent campaign for, ahem, the most important job on the planet. Has all the vitriol she received over the last five-plus years smacked of just a smidge of racism/sexism? I’ve always thought so, but that’s just me.

Tldr, I’m not offering any excuses or inferring that she didn’t suck as bad as Mayor Pete would have, just saying that people like Nancy Pelosi and Donald Trump and all those assholes make her look like Mother Teresa in comparison. Yes, you don’t have to reply with a bulleted list of her evil deeds, but come on already, she didn’t blow this for you liberal guys, Joe did.

My second book, My Year In The Online Left, came out on June 10. Meantime, if you want to be fully, genuinely informed about the political troll/bot invasion of Election 2016, 2020, and Elections-Yet-To-Come, buy my previous book. There’s the tiniest bit of technical stuff in there, but you’ll get it, I promise. My Twitter is @esaeger, my Mastodon is @esaeger@universeodon.com (I’m never there), my BlueSky is @esaeger.bsky.social (ditto) and my cursed Facebook is eric.saeger.9 (I do visit it daily).
